We are looking for a Senior Technical Business Analyst for a 12-month contract position, with possible extensions in Saanich, British Columbia. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.Position is available as hybrid. The successful candidate will be expected to be on-site for meetings, when requested. Work hours are 8:00 AM 5:00 PM Pacific Time, Monday to Friday. Role DescriptionWe are looking for a Senior Technical Business Analyst to work alongside the companys IT department. There are several operational projects to translate high level business needs into actionable technical specifications. The core of the projects includes, but is not limited to, supporting operational technology projects for the Companys Engineering department and other various operational technologies (e.g. SCADA, Routeware, GIS, etc.).ResponsibilitiesSchedule, plan, and lead requirements-gathering and review sessions, and develop business, functional, and technical requirements documentation. Model and document key features, specifications, and constraints for technical solutions. Facilitate requirements and solution design workshops with business areas and technical teams. Demonstrate a deep technical awareness in data management and analysis, system architecture and integration, and software development life cycle. Create and maintain standard project artefacts, including project scope, business requirements, process flow diagrams, test plans, communication plans, and operating models. Work with stakeholders and technical team members to map, analyze, and document current and future-state business processes. Contribute to program planning and delivery activities. Assess and recommend process improvements, including business process modelling. Maintain accurate and current project documentation for assigned initiatives. Contribute to solution design by identifying data, functional, and non-functional requirements. Establish a structured approach with the Operations team to ensure change control processes are being followed. Coordinate system testing activities, including defining and supporting test execution (e.g. load, integration, failover testing, etc.) in collaboration with technical and testing teams. Work collaboratively with clients and vendors/suppliers to develop and implement automated business processes, service level agreements, service management processes, and application maintenance/support requirements. Liaise with business stakeholders and support teams to plan, support, and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Required Skills and ExperienceA minimum of 5 years of experience working on IT projects as a Senior Technical Business Analyst. Undergraduate degree in Administration, Engineering, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
