They have a collaborative, laid-back culture where the team likes to have fun and works hard to deliver quality, on-time results every time.COMPANY VALUESExperience: Delivering projects on-time and on-budget.Excellence: Working with skilled subcontractors to deliver quality every time.Efficiency: Providing complete construction service from tender to close-out.POSITION OVERVIEW Reporting to the Project Manager(s), the Site Supervisor oversees all construction activities on a worksite and is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating projects from start to finish. This detail-oriented problem solver manages crews, inspects work, ensures compliance with legislation, building permits, and codes, and communicates with inspectors on code compliance.The Site Supervisor ensures equipment is available and in working order, keeps project costs on budget, and maintains a strong commitment to health and safety across all workers and subcontractors.SHIFT STRUCTURE This is primarily a night-shift role. Night work (typically 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM) is a regular part of working with our client. It may not happen immediately, but it is a matter of when, not if. Day-shift projects occur occasionally but should not be expected as the norm. Drive times to and from job sites can add 1 to 1.5 hours each way.PROJECT PROFILE Typical projects are smaller retail and commercial builds lasting 6 to 12 weeks. Larger projects range from $3 to $5 million and span 6 to 8 months. Our client is not a mega-project firm; candidates from $50M+ hospital, arena, or oil-and-gas backgrounds are not a fit.Job Site Territory: Burlington, Oakville, Mississauga, Niagara, Toronto/GTA, Oshawa, Kitchener/Waterloo.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESDirect work on retail and commercial sites, ensuring compliance with design, specs, regulations, and safety codes.Read and interpret drawings and specifications (mechanical, electrical, civil) and translate architectural drawings into a working schedule.Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate projects on-site from start to finish with regard to schedules, specifications, and budgets.Interpret building codes, safety guidelines, and construction regulations.Assist with project budget estimates, POs, and labour costs.Develop construction schedules and monitor progress and compliance.Keep Project Managers informed on progress, issues, concerns, and delays.Document revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.Participate in or lead project meetings with internal and external parties.Coordinate, direct, and monitor all construction workers on site; allocate daily staffing to meet schedule objectives.Ensure required equipment and materials are on-site daily; understand equipment operation, inspection, and maintenance.Ensure PPE is worn correctly and replaced when worn or damaged.Develop and implement quality control programs.Complete on-site administrative duties: timesheets, take-offs, purchases, change requests, daily logs, and other documentation.Perform regular safety inspections to ensure OHS compliance.Plan, execute, and monitor the construction plan, including scheduling and logistics.Ensure accurate and timely project close-out, including final site inspections and sign-offs.MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTSExperience in retail and/or commercial construction (non-negotiable).Project-scope familiarity in the $3 to $5 million range (mega-project backgrounds are not a fit).Fluent English, strong written and verbal communication.Valid Class G driver's licence (Class A or restricted Class A if towing over 4,600 kg).Own reliable vehicle (mileage reimbursed).Strong proficiency with modern technology (cell phones, tablets, apps).Working knowledge of Autodesk Build (formerly PlanGrid), Gmail, Google Suite, Google Calendar, Microsoft Suite, and MS Project.
