The Opportunity The Manager, Licensed & Regulated Childcare will lead and oversee five sites across York Region. Key Job Responsibilities Manage and ensure compliance of all licensed childcare programs under the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014 (CCEYA) and all Care for Newcomer Children (CNC) accredited programs operated in two Welcome Centers for Immigrant Services and three community schools in York Region. Ensure handbooks, manuals, forms, policies, website information, etc., are developed, managed and kept current. Address concerns from the Ministry and School Boards. Develop and maintain partnerships with key affiliated organizations, agencies, and other stakeholders as appropriate; attend and participate in various committees and meetings as required. Oversee all Public Health requirements (food handling, sanitation and safety inspections); ensure adherence to Canada-Wide Early Learning & Child Care System funding guidelines, and oversee ROA Report, RISE funding and referrals. Develop, implement and enforce emergency preparedness plans. Address parent concerns in a timely and professional manner, address serious occurrences and conduct investigations. Provide strong leadership to a diverse team which includes recruitment and onboarding, performance management, coaching and team development, conflict resolution and corrective discipline, some scheduling and workforce planning ensuring documentation of the same. Set priorities, develop work schedules, and continuously monitor progress towards organizational and division strategic priorities, tracking details, data, information and activities for program and staff/personal progress. Provide direct program support as needed to ensure ratio coverage. Candidate Profile Bachelors degree or Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a related field, with a strong foundation in child development theories and practices. Minimum 3 years of management-level experience in licensed and regulated childcare, with a proven ability to oversee operations, ensure compliance, and optimize organizational processes. Deep understanding of legislation, licensing requirements, and operational policies governing childcare programs. Strong leadership, team building, performance management and conflict resolution skills to foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to engage with staff, families, community agencies, school boards and stakeholders effectively. Excellent time management, prioritization and analytical skills to navigate a fast-paced and dynamic changing environment.
