Outside Technical Sales Specialist Industrial Controls Company: Westburne Location: Calgary, BC Type: Full-time Westburne, a division of Rexel Canada Electrical Inc., is a leader in electrical product distribution participating in the commercial, residential, industrial and institutional markets across Canada. We are seeking a motivated and ambitious outside Technical Sales Specialist to join our dynamic sales team. This role is designed for individuals who are eager to grow their technical expertise and sales skills. The ideal candidate will work closely with senior sales specialists, technical experts, and customers to develop a deep understanding of our products, services, and solutions. As part of the Industrial Controls portfolio, you will be responsible for Industrial Controls, sensors, safety, connectivity, and associated complementary product and solution offerings. Key Responsibilities Sales Development Build relationships with new and existing customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions. Identify opportunities to grow sales within assigned territories by prospecting, networking, and following up on leads. Assist in preparing and delivering technical presentations to customers, showcasing the value of our products and services. Business Planning & Training Develop and deliver a yearly business plan with specific goals and sales targets. Evaluate training needs of internal customers with the goal of making them selfsufficient in Industrial Controls products. Be the customers champion with suppliers to quickly find solutions for any technical or commercial issues. Technical Expertise Develop a strong understanding of the companys product portfolio, including electrical, automation, and energy solutions. Collaborate with technical teams to provide accurate and effective solutions to customer challenges. Stay uptodate on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings. Customer Support Serve as a trusted advisor to customers, providing technical guidance and support throughout the sales process. Address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to ensure satisfaction and longterm relationships. Professional Growth Participate in training programs, workshops, and mentorship opportunities to enhance technical knowledge and sales skills. Shadow senior sales specialists to learn best practices and gain handson experience in complex sales scenarios. Set and achieve performance goals aligned with the progression to a seniorlevel role. Collaboration Work closely with internal teams, including engineering, operations, and customer service, to ensure seamless delivery of solutions. Provide feedback to product management and marketing teams to improve offerings and address customer needs. Qualifications Bachelors degree in a technical field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Technologist, or related discipline) or equivalent experience. 1-3 years of experience in sales, customer service, or a technical role (internships or coop experience considered). Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with customers. Technical aptitude and willingness to learn about complex products and solutions. Selfmotivated, goaloriented, and eager to take on challenges. Valid drivers license, passport and ability to travel within assigned territory. Preferred Qualifications Experience in the electrical, automation, or energy industries. Familiarity with CRM software and sales tools. Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
