We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Transmission Line Design Engineer to join our Calgary engineering team. We offer a dynamic work environment with an experienced technical team where you will be involved in all aspects of the engineering and design process.We are supporting a strong pipeline of secured and potential Transmission projects across North America, including significant ECI and EPC work.Job title: Senior Transmission Line Design EngineerLocation: Calgary, AlbertaNote: This description reflects the responsibilities and qualifications for the role as listed by the employer.ResponsibilitiesLead the design and engineering execution of transmission projects.Interpret codes, standards, and client requirements to create optimized design criteria documents.Oversee and produce accurate PLS-CADD / TOWER / POLE models representing project conditions.Develop scopes of work, material specifications, and construction specifications to support project execution.Provide leadership, guidance, instruction, and mentorship to less experienced staff.Lead capital project development including feasibility studies, project scope definitions, cost estimates, and preliminary/detailed designs.Manage and track cost and schedule of engineering deliverables and report to senior management as required.Coordinate with other discipline teams within PHASOR (Civil, Stations, Survey, etc.).Prepare proposals for Transmission Line Projects with cost and budget estimates.Perform site investigations and field reviews when required.Review and seal final design prints.Participate in technical meetings with other disciplines, contractors, or customers.Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering.Currently licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.).Minimum 8 years of relevant engineering experience, ideally the majority in Canada.Knowledge of codes and standards including CEC, CSA, IEEE, IEC, CIGRE, ANSI, and NEMA.Experience working on industrial and/or utilities projects.Proficient in the PLS software suite.Experience in electrical studies such as EMF, corona losses, grounding design, and lightning performance is an asset.Experience in construction and/or construction support is an asset.Excellent communication skills.Valid Class 5 Driver's License.BenefitsDental careDisability insuranceEmployee assistance programExtended health careLife insuranceOn-site gymOn-site parkingPaid time offRRSP matchVision careWellness programSeniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-time #J-18808-Ljbffr
