Job Description AECOM is hiring a Requirements Manager to join our Systems Engineering and Systems Assurance group. This role specializes in Requirements Engineering, Verification & Validation, Integration, and Interface Management, supporting major rail and transit programs across the region. This is a newly created position. The role can be based in Mississauga, Markham, Calgary, or Edmonton. The Requirements Manager will provide seniorlevel leadership in requirements development, traceability, compliance verification, and configuration control. This role focuses on establishing, governing, and maintaining the requirements baseline from initial capture through final acceptance, ensuring project requirements are clear, traceable, verifiable, and controlled throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities General Responsibilities Independently perform and coordinate requirements engineering activities across complex programs Lead requirements analysis involving ambiguous or evolving technical challenges Supervise engineers and analysts supporting requirements capture, decomposition, allocation, and verification Act as the primary liaison between project teams, clients, contractors, and external stakeholders Operate with minimal supervision while exercising expert judgment in requirements methodologies and tooling Core Requirements Management Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain the Requirements Management Plan (RMP) Lead the capture, decomposition, and structuring of requirements from stakeholder needs, standards, and design inputs Configure and administer requirements management tools, particularly IBM DOORS NG Establish and maintain bidirectional traceability between system, subsystem, and component requirements Conduct quality reviews to identify requirement gaps, conflicts, ambiguities, and inconsistencies Manage requirements change control, impact assessments, and baseline updates Develop and maintain Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTMs) and compliance matrices Coordinate requirement reviews with designers, suppliers, client representatives, and assurance teams Ensure requirements allocation and ownership are clearly defined Prepare requirements dashboards, reports, and metrics for project stakeholders Support verification and validation activities as they relate to requirement closure and acceptance Provide mentorship and training to supporting staff Contribute to proposals and bids, including scope definition, estimates, and tool strategies Qualifications Minimum Requirements Bachelors degree in Engineering or related discipline Minimum 6 years of experience in Requirements Management or Systems Engineering At least 5 years of handson experience using requirements management tools Minimum 5 years experience delivering requirements activities across the full project lifecycle Demonstrated expertise in requirements decomposition, traceability, and change control Valid drivers license Preferred Qualifications 10+ years of experience in Requirements Management or Systems Engineering Experience applying industry frameworks and standards, including: ISO 29148 (Requirements Engineering) ISO 15288 / ISO 24748 (System Lifecycle Processes) IEEE 1220 (Systems Engineering Process) INCOSE ASEP or CSEP certification Familiarity with EN50126 and FTA SCC requirements frameworks Project management certification or training (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) Additional Information Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
