Job Description

Position Summary The Marketing and Communications Specialist builds understanding, trust, and engagement with job seekers, partners, employers, and the Province of Alberta. This role leads outreach and engagement activities, creates clear and culturally responsive communications, manages digital and internal messaging, and ensures all materials meet quality standards. By working collaboratively and using feedback, the Specialist helps make employment services accessible, visible, and aligned with Albertas priorities. Core Responsibilities Content creation: develop plain-language, trauma-informed messaging across centers, partners and platforms for job seekers, maintain referral-facing materials, and produce materials for information sessions, job fairs, and community events while adhering to provincial standards, accessibility guidelines, and branding requirements. Cultural responsiveness: create culturally responsive materials that support diverse populations and languages. Outreach campaigns: support outreach campaigns by designing and producing promotional materials that build visibility and trust in collaboration with community partners and employers. Employer engagement: coordinate employer engagement communications with the Employer Concierge Team. Digital management: maintain website, digital content, and service updates as required. Internal communications: support internal communications to ensure staff understand program changes and updates. Quality improvement: use engagement data and feedback to refine messaging and outreach strategies. Event coordination: organize and manage launch events or stakeholder briefings, as applicable. Qualifications Education: Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field. Experience: 3+ years in marketing, communications, or public engagement roles. Content expertise: experience in creating culturally responsive and trauma-informed content; strong writing and editing skills for plain-language communication. Sector knowledge: familiarity with employment services or social programs is an asset. Digital proficiency: proficiency in digital marketing tools and content management systems. Project management: ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive communication practices. Collaborative mindset and ability to work with diverse stakeholders. Analytical skills to interpret engagement data and adjust strategies.
