Career Level: Experienced (Non-Manager) Education: Some College Coursework CompletedJob Description:POSITION OBJECTIVEDevelop sales plans that effectively market Acklands-Graingers value proposition to customers in their account territories to drive profitable sales growth. Utilize Professional Selling Skills (PSS) to understand customer needs and present cost-effective solutions which will increase customer spend loyalty and retention.KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:Demonstrates and excels in Acklands-Grainger Performance Drivers, including but not limited to the following behaviors:Wow the Customer Know your customers; Earn your customers trust; Become your customers go-to personHave A Winning Attitude Play to win; Act with optimism & enthusiasm; Make courageous decisionsDrive For The Best Results Set high standards; Take personal accountability; Deliver on commitmentsMake The Team Better Be collaborative; Build trust; Communicate openly & honestly; Listen & learn from othersManage an account portfolio of approximately 75 medium to large size customers, including National Accounts customers, as well as executing a balanced focus of new/new customer acquisition activityWeekly field activity expectations; 23 customer calls including a minimum of 3 new customer development callsIdentify and classify account opportunities and potential by establishing call priorities and frequencies (pipeline report, customer action plan)Develop and implement account penetration plans and strategies to include regular account business reviews for key customersAbility to understand customer needs and concerns to help them get the job done and win their businessAggressively follow up on leads to convert to profitable salesManage and maintain customer segment accounts, while increasing customer awareness of AGI through our product and service offeringGrow share of wallet with these customers and determine potential customers that may have more complex requirementsPartner with AGI suppliers/vendors and internal AGI sales resources, such as National Accounts and Specialists to achieve profitable sales goalsCommunicate regularly with branch team in order to resolve customer issuesInstall AGI solutions such as eCommerce and Private Brands with customersOther sales-related duties including but not limited to supporting the Branch and customers as requiredREQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS3 to 5 years of sales experience is required, outside sales experience preferredAbility to work independently with strong self-managementSuperior interpersonal and customer service skills to effectively build relationshipsDemonstrated team-playing attitudeStrong communication skills, ability to convey message in an organized, clear and effective mannerA self-starter, taking action to achieve goals beyond what is requiredExceptional time management skillsGoes beyond job requirements to seek opportunities and generate ideas for improvementsProficient computer skills and aptitudePossession of a valid drivers license and a reliable vehicleA post-secondary education is preferredBASIC REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO ROLE PROGRESSIONDemonstrates and excels in all AGI Performance Drivers (Wow The Customer, Have A Winning Attitude, Drive For The Best Results, Make The Team Better)Consistently tracking at a minimum of 100% target of sales and gross margin budgetActively selling in this role for 1 to 2 years with consistent performance that meets or exceeds expectationsIdentified as a PSS champion by the DSM to lead, coach, and mentor team membersStrong leadership and coaching skills; derived from mentoring and on-boarding of new sellersStrong and demonstrated communication skills; effectively expressing ideas, both verbal and writtenAcklands-Grainger Inc is committed to the principles and practices of employment equity.
