The opportunity Paladin Canada is seeking a Civil Engineer to oversee the planning, design, construction, and commissioning of all civil and structural works for a greenfield mining and milling facility in Saskatchewan. The role provides technical governance, assurance, and oversight of the EPCM contractor and construction contractors, ensuring civil infrastructure is delivered safely, in compliance with regulatory and environmental requirements, and aligned with project cost, schedule, operability, and long-term asset performance objectives. Reporting to the Engineering Project Manager, the Civil Engineer will be based in our Saskatoon head office. You will have the opportunity to showcase your skills and expertise as we advance PLS, which is one of the most significant undeveloped uranium resources in the world. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering; P.Eng. designation (or eligibility for registration) preferred. 10+ years of civil engineering experience, ideally within mining, heavy industrial, or resource extraction sectors. Experience with geotechnical assessments, structural design, earthworks, and/or tailings management. Strong understanding of engineering codes, regulatory frameworks, and industry best practices. Proficiency with engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, STAAD, or similar tools. Ability to work in remote site environments and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Experience working in Owners team or EPCM oversight capacity. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Key Responsibilities Provide technical review and approval of EPCM civil deliverables including Civil Design Criteria, Basis of Design, Engineering Philosophies, Drawings, Technical Reports, etc. Oversee geotechnical investigations and ensure findings are properly incorporated into design. Ensure design aligns with Project Execution strategy, permitting commitments, environmental impact assessment conditions, and applicable Canadian codes. Participate in value engineering, 3D model review, and constructability review sessions. Identify technical and execution risks and ensure mitigation strategies are in place. Validate quantities, capital cost assumptions, and scope boundaries. Provide engineering input into mine development, plant expansions, and sustaining capital projects. Project Management Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure project deliverables meet quality, budget, and safety expectations. Participate in technical bid evaluations. Review contractor methodologies and quality plans. Provide technical input into claims, variations, and dispute resolution as required. Construction Oversight Act as Owners site representative for civil and structural works. Independently monitor contractor performance for safety compliance, quality control and inspection compliance, and schedule adherence. Conduct site inspections and audits of earthwork compaction, concrete placement and testing, structural installations, drainage and water management systems. Ensure deficiencies are identified, tracked, and resolved. Escalate critical risks affecting cost, schedule, or long-term asset integrity. Ensure that as-built drawings and turnover packages are complete. Support final inspections and regulatory compliance sign-off. Competitive remuneration and annual incentive program.
