ABOUT THE POSITION Job Req: 962 Location: Calgary Office Division/Branch: Regulatory Services / Compliance Classification: Administrative Support 4 Status: Permanent - FT Reports to: Sharon Moore Closing Date: November 10, 2025 JOB SUMMARY The Licensing Specialist is responsible to determine the eligibility of an applicant for cannabis, special event, and class liquor licensing applications, agency registrations and cannabis representative registrations to ensure compliance with legislation, policies, and guidelines. This must be completed accurately and within reasonable timelines. The incumbent must work extensively with the public, applicants, industry stakeholders, and other regulatory bodies in a competent and professional manner and handle a high volume of inquiries. SKILLS AND ABILITIES High school diploma Minimum three years of related experience interpreting and applying legislation, policy and guidelines. Experience interpreting legal documents such as lease agreements, land title documentation, joint venture, and partnership agreements Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Post-secondary education is a definite asset NOTE: To be eligible to work for AGLC, you must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or eligible to work in Canada.
