Organization: Mercor Position: Climate Data Scientist Referral Partner: Crossing Hurdles Type: Hourly Contract Compensation: $50$60/hour Location: Remote Commitment: 1040 hours/week Role Responsibilities Develop and refine climate analysis tasks involving environmental databases, geophysical datasets, and climate model data. Create detailed evaluation rubrics to assess AI performance in scientific and environmental data interpretation. Collaborate asynchronously with global experts to validate AI outputs in the context of real-world climate research. Design scenarios that test model understanding of environmental systems, data modeling, and predictive analysis. Requirements PhD in Climate Science, Earth Science, Environmental Science, Geophysics, Atmospheric Science, or a related discipline from a top university in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia, or New Zealand. Strong professional research experience in climate or environmental data analysis. Experience with environmental databases such as NOAA, EPA, EIA, USGS, or NASA Earth Data. Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to produce scientifically accurate content.
