My client in the defense and aerospace sector is looking to hire Technical Publications Specialists in both Montreal and Mississauga.This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with an aircraft or aerospace diploma/certification who are interested in transitioning their career toward technical documentation, including working with maintenance manuals and related materials.Please note: If you hold a bachelors or masters degree, this particular opportunity may not be the right fit.Duration: 12 months(long term with possible conversion)Location: Montreal/Mississauga, ON*Due to Controlled Goods Program regulations, only candidates with eligibility for clearance (Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident) can be considered*Areas of Expertise:The technical publications team is responsible for the creation and upkeep of documentation used for the operation, upkeep, maintenance and overhaul of the entire suite of company's products.We strive to provide the highest quality documentation providing our customers with clear instructions confirming ATA and S1000D industry standards.Assembly, disassembly, testing, cleaning, fault isolation, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, configuration control, hands on validation there are many aspects of maintain and operating the products. With such wide coverage the candidate will interact will many teams in different areas of the organization.This role is primarily onsite, with as needed flexibility in work hours.Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather technical information and specifications for company's products' maintenance and overhaul manuals.Translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation for various audiences.Create and include technical illustrations, diagrams, and schematics to improve understanding of maintenance and overhaul procedures.Ensure all documentation meets regulatory requirements, company guidelines, and safety standards.Conduct usability testing and collect feedback from end-users to improve the quality and effectiveness of company's manuals.Manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain high accuracy standards.Required Job Qualifications:College degree in design and drafting or, AME certification.Must be able to obtain CGD clearance in Canada.Excellent communication skills.Sound gas turbine engine knowledge.Solid computer skills (MS Suite and 3D/2D CAD software).Familiarity with SGML or XML writing is a plus.
