The work you design will directly shape pilot plants, project decisions, and longterm partnerships, not just papers and reports. A big part of the job is turning microbial behaviour into clear numbers that engineers and decisionmakers can act on.What youll doDesign microbial mixes and operating conditions that turn tough feeds into usable metals and products.Create and run experiments that give clear numeric answers on rates, stability, and limits (for example how fast, how robust, under which conditions).Turn cell counts, rate curves, genomics, and operating envelopes into simple parameters engineers can plug into process models and pilot designs.Build and lead a small microbiology team, helping juniors grow into confident, independent contributors.Set the tone for how the lab runs: safety, quality, and documentation that partners and investors can trust.Help shape new IP and targeted publications that raise Brokkrs profile while keeping a strong commercial focus. What you bringPhD or MSc in microbiology, geomicrobiology, microbial ecology, bioprocess, or similar.5+ years of applied experience; bioleaching or industrial biotech experience is a big plus.Strong quantitative mindset: you are comfortable with counts, curves, rates, and basic data analysis, and you think in terms of what do these numbers mean for the process?.A track record of turning ideas into welldesigned experiments and clear data.Experience leading or mentoring others in a lab setting.Enjoy working sidebyside with engineers and other disciplines, and explaining biological results in simple, numeric terms.
