12 months hybrid requiring 3 days a week onsite in Ottawa, OntarioValid Secret security clearance requiredActing as the primary liaison and main point of contact for executive sponsors and key clients, the Senior Project Manager leads large-scale, high-impact, and strategically critical projects. This role provides leadership beyond single-project execution, focusing on alignment with business strategy, managing complex stakeholder relationships, and ensuring project benefits are realized. The Senior Project Manager is also responsible for mentoring other project managers and contributing to the delivery of projects within the framework of the PMOs quality management system.Key Responsibilities:Planning:Develop comprehensive project plans, including risk assessment, schedule baselines, cost estimates, and communication plans.Define project success criteria managing dependencies and optimizing resource allocation across the program.Work with stakeholders to align project plan, timeline and budget and manage expectations.Executing:Direct and manage project execution from beginning to end, serving as the primary point of contact for the client to ensure deliverables are met according to the plan.Manage project resources, including team members and material assets, to perform project tasks.Actively manage project scope to prevent scope creep and implement change requests after they have been approved through the formal internal governance process.Ensure all project activities adhere to the PMOs established quality management system and internal work instructions.Monitoring & Controlling:Track project performance against established baselines (scope, schedule, cost) and report on milestones, progress, and deliverables to stakeholders.Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks and issues, implementing corrective actions as needed to keep the project on track.Manage the project change control process to formally handle any adjustments to scope, schedule, or budget.Closing:Ensure formal project sign-off, archive all project artifacts, and document lessons learned to benefit future projectsWhen applicable, ensure a smooth and structured transition of project deliverables, documentation, and knowledge to the relevant operational or business teams to ensure long-term success and sustainability.Qualifications & Skills:University degree, PMP certification or equivalent business experience5+ years of Project Management experience, with a proven track record of successfully delivering large, complex and strategic projectsPMP certification is required.
