FIFO Heavy Equipment Mechanic Opportunity paying up to $175,000 per year! Our client, a leading provider of heavy equipment rental, maintenance, and repair solutions across North America, is currently seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Technicians (HETs) to support large-scale mining operations in Fort Mac. About the Opportunity You will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing heavy mining equipment in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. This role is ideal for technicians with experience on large haul trucks and hydraulic shovels who are looking for long-term stability, competitive compensation, and career growth. Key Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy mobile equipment Perform maintenance and overhauls on haul trucks, shovels, and support equipment Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic data Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with site standards Maintain detailed service records and documentation Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient equipment uptime What Were Looking For Alberta Off-Road Journeyman, or Red Seal Off-Road Heavy Equipment Technician certification Minimum 3 years of experience working on large mining equipment (CAT, Komatsu, Hitachi, John Deere, etc.) Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities Solid mechanical aptitude and attention to detail Commitment to safety and teamwork Ability to meet physical job requirements, including lifting up to 50 lbs Valid drivers license with air brake endorsement and clean abstract Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly rate: $58.00+ , plus OT, plus premiums (equals to about $175k per year) Overtime and performance-based bonuses Comprehensive benefits package (health, dental, vision, disability) Retirement savings plan with employer contributions Ongoing training, certification support, and career development opportunities Work Schedule 14 days on / 14 days off rotation 12-hour shifts (day and night rotation) Opportunity for significant overtime earnings
