Position Overview We are seeking a handson Controller to manage and guide our accounting function, including a team of 3 to 4 professionals. This highimpact role requires strong leadership, a strategic mindset, and experience in complex, international financial environments. The ideal candidate will bring Canadian tax knowledge, multicurrency proficiency, and a deep understanding of import/export operations. Proficiency in SAP Business One is essential. Objectives of this Role Lead, coach, and develop a highperforming accounting team of 34 staff Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior leadership through analysis and reporting of key data points Support strategic decisionmaking in collaboration with the VP of Finance and Operations Guide and maintain robust financial controls and reporting standards across international operations Improve budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes to support scalable growth Oversee Canadian tax compliance and international financial transactions Optimize SAP Business One for reporting, accuracy, and efficiency Develop and maintain sales and operational performance analysis Key Responsibilities Manage and oversee general ledger, accounts receivable/payable, payroll, and financial reporting systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and international regulations Monitor and report on financial health, performance trends, and variances against budget Implement and enforce internal controls that protect company assets and promote accuracy and integrity Lead tax planning and compliance activities, with a focus on Canadian corporate tax Ensure accuracy in multicurrency accounting and foreign exchange processes Coordinate import/export finance activities involving crossborder transactions Develop benchmarks and KPIs for operations and financial goals; report performance monthly, quarterly, and annually Manage credit controls and accounts receivable aging with strategic oversight Collaborate crossfunctionally to support manufacturing, supply chain, and logistics from a financial perspective Required Skills and Qualifications 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role Proven experience in international operations including import/export logistics and multicurrency accounting Advanced knowledge of Canadian tax laws and financial reporting requirements Strong analytical, organizational, and strategic thinking skills Excellent leadership and interpersonal abilities Proficient in SAP Business One and Microsoft Office Suite Experience in manufacturing, production, or warehouse distribution environments Detailoriented with a commitment to process improvement and operational excellence Preferred Attributes Experience optimizing financial systems and ERP integrations Familiarity with international banking practices and letters of credit Ability to lead change in a growing and fastpaced company Seniority Level MidSenior level Employment Type Fulltime Job Function Accounting/Auditing and Finance Location Surrey, British Columbia, Canada Base Pay Range CA$130,000.00/yr CA$140,000.00/yr #J-18808-Ljbffr
