The successful candidate is someone who is passionate about the automotive industry and eager to contribute to our growing team.ResponsibilitiesFull cycle accounting including month end and year end close processes, journal entries, invoicing, bank and general ledger reconciliationsIn addition to non-dealership accounting you would be helping out our centralized national purchasing company, and preparing quarter end dealership working paper templatesAccounts receivable and accounts payable oversight and reviewBalance sheet schedule maintenancePrepare third party quarterly and year end reportingResponsible for the accuracy and timeliness of financial informationSupport and assist junior accounting staff with daily tasks and dutiesPrepare manufacturer financial statementsUnderstanding of internal controls and their importanceExpense and inventory analysisAssist with year-end financial statement audit requestsSet up and maintain information reports for senior managementProcess, review and analyze payroll; focus on discrepancies and taxable deductionsEnsure all standard accounting policies, procedures and controls are consistently and accurately appliedAbout YouMinimum 5+ years' experience of senior accounting within management, investment and real estate companies.Fully understand the monthly accounting cycle and be proficient in accounting year ends.University degree in Business/AccountingCanadian professional accounting designation (Chartered Professional Accountant) or working towards a Canadian designation is considered an asset but not requiredExperience in the automotive industry and familiarity with CDK is considered an assetAdvanced knowledge of MS Office.
