OverviewMechanical Design Assistant (4 month Fall Term) Antec Controls, a division of Price Industries. Antec Controls is a leader in environmental monitoring and control for critical spaces such as operating rooms, isolation rooms, and laboratories. Our range of products includes electronic controllers, touchscreen interfaces, sensors, air valves and many other supporting products. Our controllers are highly configurable, allowing for optimization of room and fume hood control.The successful candidate will be expected to learn and create expertise within the role while remaining open to cross-training within our fast-growing business.ResponsibilitiesSupporting product designers in each stage of the design processAssembling prototypes and setting up test spacesPerforming and documenting testing both benchtop and in mock-up test spacesAnalyzing and interpreting testing resultsSupporting the creation of design documentationProviding design support for manufacturingQualificationsEnrolled in post-secondary education for Mechanical Engineering or Technologist or equivalentExcellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, with an eye for detailA cooperative team player attitude who thrives in a fast-paced environmentAn aptitude and willingness to learn new skillsA high level of critical thinking and accountabilityExperience with hand tools and wiring considered an assetAdditional informationAt Antec Controls, we believe in hiring based on team fit.
