In partnership with Kiewit Nuclear Canada and Ontario Power Generation (OPG), Aecon has secured a contract for the Darlington New Nuclear Project (DNNP) in Clarington, Ontario. Starting in 2025, the Mechanical Quality Control Inspector will support the construction of the Unit 1 Small Modular Reactor at the Darlington site. What Youll Do Here Maintain mechanical construction inspection and test plans using the correct codes and customer specifications. Complete all associated records to document the status and results of performed inspections. Understand and interpret technical drawings. Verify that material meets Purchase Order, Code, and Standards requirements. Initiate nonconformance reports when required. Identify and segregate nonconforming items. Collaborate in the development and maintenance of projectspecific procedures and work instructions. Collaborate with management for interface on Quality activities with internal or external organizations (customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and others). Verify that calibrated equipment is used during the performance of inspection activities. Support with the preparation of History File or History Docket. Promote safety awareness including adherence to safety rules and requirements. Perform other activities as required by Management. What You Bring To The Team Secondary school education. 13 years of experience in the mechanical field and QA/QC or a related discipline. W178 Level 2 Visual Weld inspection certification. Experience with ASME Code, B&PV plus Nuclear/ISO9001 and CWB. Prior experience in receiving inspections and controls is an asset. Selfdirected, motivated team player who thrives in a fastpaced environment. Proficiency with MS Office Suite. Understanding of design and construction requirements. Strong coordination and organization skills with strict emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written, with all internal departments, partnership organizations, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities.
