Overview We are seeking a highly qualified occupational therapist, physiotherapist, or recreational therapist to serve as a specialized consultant for our Rehabilitation Assistant program. This contract assignment focuses on the program''s technical and physical infrastructure to ensure our lab facilities meet provincial accreditation standards and industry best practices. The successful consultant will evaluate our current capacity to deliver high-quality, handson training for students entering the physical and rehabilitation therapy support sectors. Project Responsibilities And Scope Of Service Facility Audit: Perform a comprehensive physical or virtual walkthrough of the existing laboratory and classroom spaces designated for the Rehabilitation Assistant program. Standard Alignment: Evaluate the lab environment against required standards of practice. Gap Analysis: Identify discrepancies between the current facility/inventory and the requirements for modern clinical training (e.g., mobility aids, exercise equipment, etc.) Technical Consultation: Provide subject matter expertise on the spatial layout required for safe and effective clinical training. Project Deliverables A narrative report inclusive of the following information: Lab Space Assessment & Requirements: A detailed evaluation of the current square footage, lighting, plumbing, and storage needs for the laboratory space for the Rehabilitation Assistant program. A list of structural or environmental requirements (e.g., privacy curtains, sink placement, floor clearings for mobility devices). Equipment Audit and Requirements: An itemized assessment of the condition and relevance of existing equipment (beds, wheelchairs, etc.) and their associated costs. A prioritized list of additional equipment needed to launch or improve the program. Specific technical specifications for equipment to ensure it matches current clinical workplace standards. Qualifications Professional Designation: Must be a registered Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, or Physiotherapist with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience. Academic/Vocational Experience: Prior experience in curriculum development or lab design for private vocational colleges or public post-secondary institutions is highly preferred. DetailOriented: Ability to provide highly specific equipment lists that align with budgetary and pedagogical goals.
