This role ensures alignment with company standards, contract expectations, and project execution requirements while supporting safe, efficient, and high-quality project delivery.Field Technicians are expected to understand and uphold company policies, procedures, specifications, and safety standards while actively contributing to construction and commissioning activities.Key ResponsibilitiesSafety & ComplianceParticipate in and support safety initiatives and adherence to the Safety Management SystemConduct and contribute to field hazard and risk assessmentsPromote a strong safety culture through active participation in toolbox and safety meetingsProject Execution & CoordinationParticipate in project execution planning (design reviews, model reviews, CWP reviews)Support coordination between Construction, Engineering, and Project Management teamsMaintain ongoing communication with internal and external stakeholdersContract & Performance ManagementDevelop field requisitions in collaboration with Supply Chain, Construction, and Project teamsSupport technical bid evaluations and contractor selection processesVerify contractor compliance with contractual, technical, and engineering requirementsDevelop and maintain quantity/performance verification toolsTechnical Support & Issue ResolutionReview and recommend solutions for technical issuesProcess and communicate RFIs, RFCs, FCNs, and contractor clarificationsSupport resolution of material shortages, discrepancies, and field issuesEnsure adherence to specifications and standardsRisk ManagementIdentify and communicate risks related to safety, quality, cost, schedule, and contractor performanceSupport ongoing risk mitigation and resolution strategiesCloseout & Continuous ImprovementParticipate in contractor closeouts and lessons learned sessionsContribute to continuous improvement initiatives and best practicesCore CompetenciesAdministration & document managementTechnical writing and document productionInterpretation of engineering drawings and plansSystems evaluation and analytical thinkingRisk assessment and cost-benefit analysisCoordination and planningComplex problem solvingProfessional judgment and decision-makingStrong attention to detailQualifications & RequirementsMinimum 5 years of construction experience on projects exceeding $10MM annuallyExperience in mechanical services or construction industryStrong understanding of construction and change management principlesProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)Field experience considered an assetValid Class 5 drivers licenseAbility to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testingWork EnvironmentThis role is site-based at various Oilsands locations.
