Our client, a well-established organization in Kanata, Ontario, is seeking a knowledgeable and confident Labour Relations Specialist to join their team. This role will play a key part in supporting positive union-management relations, advising leaders on collective agreement interpretation, and helping navigate grievance, investigation, and negotiation matters. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR or labour relations professional who is strong in communication, balanced in approach, and confident operating in a fast-paced environment where sound judgment and credibility are critical.Daily responsibilities may include but are not limited to:Provide day-to-day labour relations support to leaders across the organizationInterpret and apply collective agreements, policies, and employment-related legislationSupport grievance management including research, documentation, meeting preparation, responses, and follow-upPartner with managers and HR teams on disciplinary matters, workplace investigations, performance issues, and attendance managementAct as a trusted advisor on unionized workforce matters while balancing operational needs and compliance requirementsParticipate in labour-management meetings and help foster productive working relationships with union representativesSupport collective bargaining preparation including data gathering, issue tracking, language review, and strategy supportPrepare reports, correspondence, case summaries, briefing notes, and other labour relations documentationIdentify trends and provide recommendations to reduce risk, improve consistency, and strengthen employee relations practicesSupport policy development, training, and education for leaders related to labour relations and employee relations best practicesMandatory Requirements:5+ years of labour relations experience within a unionized environmentStrong working knowledge of collective agreement interpretation and labour relations practicesExperience supporting grievances, investigations, discipline, and employee relations mattersSolid understanding of applicable employment and labour legislationStrong communication, conflict resolution, and relationship management skillsAbility to handle sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism and sound judgmentStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentProficiency with Microsoft Office and experience preparing detailed documentation and reportsSalary Range: $100,000 - $120,000 per yearIf you are interested in learning more about the Labour Relations Specialist job opportunity please submit your updated resume to We are recruitment industry leaders committed to quality service, integrity, respect and equal opportunity.
