Role OverviewThe Continuous Improvement Engineer plays a critical role in driving operational excellence across a thirdparty logistics (3PL) site. This position partners closely with Operations, Engineering, IT, and leadership teams to identify improvement opportunities, reduce waste, enhance service performance, and embed a culture of continuous improvement across warehouse and transportation operations.The role requires strong analytical capability, handson process engineering experience, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels in a fastpaced, 247 logistics environment.Key ResponsibilitiesContinuous Improvement & Process OptimizationLead and execute continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and operational excellence methodologies.Identify, analyze, and improve endtoend logistics processes including receiving, putaway, picking, packing, shipping, crossdock, and transportation flows.Facilitate value stream mapping, time studies, root cause analysis (RCA), and Kaizen events across multiple sites.Standardize best practices across facilities while balancing clientspecific requirements.Data Analysis & Performance ManagementAnalyze operational KPIs (productivity, cost, quality, service, safety) to identify trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities.Develop dashboards, reports, and business cases to quantify benefits (cost savings, service improvement, capacity gains).Track benefits realization and sustainability of implemented initiatives.Change Management & Stakeholder EngagementPartner with site leadership and frontline teams to implement process changes with minimal disruption to operations.Provide handson coaching to supervisors and managers on CI tools and problemsolving techniques.Support adoption of new processes, systems, and technologies through structured change management.Systems, Technology & InnovationCollaborate with IT and Engineering on WMS, TMS, LMS, and automation initiatives.Support system implementations, process design, and golive stabilization from an operational excellence perspective.Explore and evaluate emerging technologies and best practices applicable to 3PL operations.Safety, Quality & ComplianceEnsure process improvements align with Ontario Health & Safety (OHSA), Employment Standards Act (ESA), and company policies.Embed safety, ergonomics, and quality considerations into all process designs.Support audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement related to safety and compliance.Required QualificationsBachelors degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related discipline.37+ years of continuous improvement, industrial engineering, or operations excellence experience in logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, or distribution.Strong working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and structured problemsolving methodologies.Experience supporting large, laborintensive operations (highvolume, multishift, or 247 environments).Advanced data analysis skills (Excel required; Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or Python an asset).Excellent communication and facilitation skills with the ability to influence without authority.Preferred / Asset QualificationsLean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.Experience in a national or multisite 3PL or supply chain environment.Handson experience with WMS, TMS, or labor management systems.Experience supporting automation, robotics, or warehouse layout/design projects.Familiarity with Canadian occupational health & safety regulations and labor standards.Key CompetenciesAnalytical and structured problem solverStrong business acumen with costtoserve understandingChange agent mindset with high emotional intelligenceComfortable working on the floor and engaging frontline teamsAble to manage multiple projects across different sites and timelinesWorking ConditionsTravel between Ontario sites as required (estimated 2040%)Combination of office, warehouse, and onsite operational environmentsFlexible schedule to support offshift or weekend improvement initiatives when requiredWhy Join Us?Opportunity to drive measurable impact across a national 3PL networkWork in a fastgrowing, customerfocused logistics organizationExposure to senior leadership and enterpriselevel initiativesCompetitive compensation, benefits, and career development opportunitiesBase salary: $90,000 - $100,000 per annum, plus bonus
