Position SummaryWar Child is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our Events and Partnerships team. This role will provide valuable hands-on experience in fundraising, event planning, partnership development, and digital content creation, while contributing to meaningful social change.As the Events Coordinator, you will play an essential role in supporting our events and campaigns, assisting with logistics, developing creative materials, managing partnerships, and conducting research. This position offers excellent opportunities to develop transferable skills under the guidance of experienced professionals.This is a remote position, but candidates must be based in Toronto or surrounding areas and able to attend occasional in-person meetings or events as needed.ResponsibilitiesYou will gain practical experience in event management, fundraising, and business development. Key responsibilities include:Event Planning and ExecutionAssist with planning and executing high-impact fundraising events and campaigns, both live and virtual.Manage logistics, build workback schedules, and ensure the timely fulfillment of partnership commitments.Support outreach for third-party events, helping assist fundraiser in setting up and promoting their events.Graphic Design and Content CreationDesign promotional and marketing materials, including event graphics and social media content.Collaborate on content for donor communications and sponsorship proposals.Partnerships and Vendor EngagementConduct outreach and maintain relationships with vendors, sponsors, and influencers.Develop sponsorship and partnership packages and ensure effective engagement with partners.Research and AnalysisResearch new partnership opportunities with artists, celebrities, brands, and organizations.Analyze industry trends and provide insights to inform event strategies.Administration and SupportPrepare donor follow-up reports, partnership updates, and financial reconciliations.Coordinate departmental calendars and track event and campaign progress.Assist with the management of event administration needs (ex. registrations, databases, etc.).QualificationsExperience & KnowledgeCurrently pursuing or recently completed a Post-Secondary degree or diploma, preferably in Event Management, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.Experience in fundraising, event coordination, or a non-profit environment is an asset.Familiarity with digital marketing tools, project management, or vendor management is a bonus.Skills & AbilityExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on professional and donor-facing communication.Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under pressure.Demonstrated experience in creative problem-solving and analytical thinking.High attention to detail and accuracy in work.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with tools like Canva, Adobe Suite, or equivalent graphic design software.Additional InformationThis position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program.
