Location This position is in-person and is located in Edmonton, Alberta at the Dianne & Irving Kipnes Health Research Academy and the Kaye Edmonton Clinic. Position The Mike Petryk School of Dentistry invites applications for a full-time tenure track-faculty position in Periodontology at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor. Responsibilities The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to develop a viable and productive research program, for which start-up funds will be available. The successful candidate must demonstrate an interest and aptitude for clinical and didactic teaching in periodontology. Time allocation for private practice / Professional (Clinical) Practice will be integrated into this appointment. Qualifications Applicants will have graduated from an accredited specialty program and have relevant postgraduate and clinical qualifications in the specialty of periodontics or an equivalent level as specified by the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (RCDC) and be eligible for licensure with the College of Dental Surgeons of Alberta (CDSA). Consideration will be given to applicants with a PhD degree and teaching experience in periodontology. Applicants will have a record of or potential for scholarly contribution in the area of periodontology, and evidence of ability to provide high-quality undergraduate and graduate level teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to supervise graduate students and involve them in their program of research. The successful candidate will be offered a tenured or tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, including a comprehensive benefits package. The terms and conditions of this appointment are governed by Schedule A of the collective agreement between the Board of Governors of the University of Alberta and the Association of Academic Staff of the University of Alberta.
