Posted Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at 4:00 AM Quality Assurance Summer Student - Sofina Foods, Mitchell ON Summary Reporting to the QA Manager, the QA Summer Student is responsible for maintaining the facilities food safety and quality program. The incumbent will also perform test and sampling requirement, pre-operational inspections, data entry and record keeping. Hours of work 10:00am - 8:30pm Monday to Thursday Wage $20.40 per hour April 1, 2026 September 3, 2026 Key Accountabilities Responsibleto ensure compliance of day-to-day functions and alignment of our food safety and quality programs. Update and maintain Visual Quality Standards (VQS). Review and update QA training material. Conduct routine allergen testing for egg to support ongoing verification activities. Assist with preparation and readiness for unannounced BRC audits. Complete sanitation and maintenance picture audits to support program verification and documentation. Support completion of required annual program(s) reassessment. Report safety and quality infringements to the Sr. QA Technicians and/or QA Manager. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Certificate or Diploma in Food Science/Microbiology or a related discipline, with relevant food processing experience. (or working towards). Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, Quality regulatory requirements and systems including GFSI standards (BRC). Strong understanding of food manufacturing processes. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. Ability to work independently. Strong communication, and interpersonal skills required. Must have reliable transportation.
