About the Position FullTime Temporary position, midJune to endofAugust (approximately 10 weeks). The Camp Leader will work closely with the team at our North Central Family Resource Network and the Camp Coordinator in planning and implementing the activities of Closer to Home''s Summer in the City (SITC) program for youth ages 712. Eligibility Criteria Between the ages of 15 and 30 years Canadian citizen, permanent resident or refugee Have all compliance documentation required by Closer to Home from the last 6 months Alberta Class 5 Drivers License First Aid CPR Level C Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search Intervention Record Check Responsibilities Lead and facilitate daily programming and recreational activities, ensuring active engagement and a positive experience for all youth participants. Supervise and safeguard children during onsite programming and offsite field trips, maintaining a high standard of safety and group oversight. Manage behavioral challenges and crisis situations using proactive conflict resolution techniques to maintain a supportive environment. Collaborate effectively with the Camp Coordinator, fellow leaders, and youth volunteers to ensure seamless program delivery. Participate in professional development through ongoing staff training and workshops to enhance leadership and mentorship skills. Support program evaluation by providing feedback and assisting with assessments to improve future camp initiatives. Qualifications Demonstrated ability and previous experience in working with children and youth Selfmotivated individual with the ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality Able to work well in a team environment Highly organized, adaptable and able to effectively manage multiple priorities at one time Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; comfortable interacting with people from a variety of backgrounds Culturally competent and able to conduct yourself in a respectful manner, encouraging the cultural/spiritual beliefs and practices of others A Police Information Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search and an Intervention Record Check must be completed prior to commencement. Any convictions or records should be disclosed before hire Current First Aid Level C from an Alberta OHS Approved agency Requires travel to and from locations around the city.
