Job Description

Bent Arrow Traditional Healing Society (Bent Arrow) is a nonprofit organization that provides unique programs and services to Edmontons urban Indigenous population. The organization was created in 1994 when Brad and Shauna Seneca identified the need for programming for Indigenous children and families based in traditional Indigenous values and teachings. This year we are celebrating our 30th anniversary, and we have grown as an agency where we have over 250 staff and 23 programs, but our mission remains to build on the strengths of Aboriginal children, youth, and their families to enable them to develop spiritually, emotionally, physically, and mentally so they can walk proudly in both the Aboriginal and nonAboriginal communities. Duties & Responsibilities Overseeing all communications, including emails, phone calls, reports, and internal correspondence. Filing important documents, such as reports, meeting notes, emails, and letters. Ensure that the Executive Directors calendar stays up to date, including adding and rescheduling appointments. Acting as the gatekeeper for internal and external contacts, including vendors, colleagues, clients, and customers. Planning and organizing events, such as staff meetings and board events. Sitting in meetings and drafting meeting notes. Keeping all matters discussed confidential and discreet. Overseeing the receptionist and arranging cover offs. Oversee supply orders for all departments. Reconcile financial statements and submit payment requests. Organize employee welcome orientation and process all certificates. Schedule all travel arrangements for the Executive Director. Must provide a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector and Intervention Record Check (within a 6month period from date of completion). Qualifications Experience 3 to 5 years experience in a related position. Exceptional attention to detail. Communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to conduct research and create reports or presentations. Ability to learn quickly. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. Basic computer and office equipment skills. Ability to work in a fastpaced environment. Education Bachelors degree in business administration.
