Job Description

The Manager of Fleet, Tools, Facilities & Lab manages the day-to-day operations of the Ontario division. Working closely with the Garage Foreperson and Tools, Facilities & Lab Supervisor, the Manager will establish priorities and ensure smooth delivery of fleet, tools and equipment for operational partners. Responsibilities Manage the planning and ongoing maintenance of 200+ utility-related heavyduty fleet & equipment Provide weekly and monthly reporting on fleet maintenance & utilization Review work orders, establish maintenance and repair priorities and delegate to the Garage Foreperson Oversee the procurement, maintenance, repair, supply and delivery of a wide range of specialized utility tools used in High Voltage Electrical applications, producing reports on utilization rates, and providing technical guidance and leadership in maintaining the high corporate standard set for Safety Oversee body shop activities including dismantling, repairing, preparing and painting equipment, as it pertains to corporate Fleet, including truck body and mounted equipment Through a direct report (Tools, Facilities & Lab Supervisor), oversee supply and delivery of specialized tools, service and maintenance schedules of tools, general property maintenance, and laboratory operations to ensure regular and thorough inspection of all tools and PPErelated equipment to ensure the KLine Lab meets all standards as set by NAIL for glove testing and stick testing. Provide direct supervision and communication with the divisional employees, leaders within the division and performance of external contracted vendors and suppliers Manage health, safety and environmental risk within the division including enforcing safe work practices and procedures Qualifications and Requirements Seven (7) to ten (10) years managerial experience in a mechanical or fleet services operation Certified Heavy Duty Mechanic is strongly preferred Certificate in Management, Technical Trades Certification or Technologist Accreditation is preferred Knowledge of utility industry, equipment maintenance and repair management, and inventory controls Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage changing priorities Strong vendor and procurement management skills (Planned Purchases, Contract Administration, Contract Closure, etc.) This post is for an existing vacancy.
