Serving as an intern at Living Water will put you in the thick of ministerial labour and work for the kingdom of God. In the life of the congregation the intern will find regular opportunities for exposure and involvement in counselling, preaching, visitation, teaching, outreach, evangelism, discipleship, and the glorious art of surviving regular Consistory and Council meetings! Intern Responsibilities Ordinarily write at least one sermon per week and preach it in both Living Water and, when possible, a sister church. For this process: Sermon manuscripts are due by Thursday at noon. Reviews and comments will be returned by Friday noon for final sermon writing. If you move to two sermons/week later in the internship, only one sermon will be reviewed. Be involved in pastoral visitation (usually Thursday afternoons) within the church, initially by accompanying our pastor on his visits but later possibly visiting on your own. Be involved in outreach programs conducted by the church, as applicable. Meet regularly Tuesday mornings (9:00 a.m.) with our pastor for feedback and mentorship. Attend all Consistory/Council and requisite meetings. Be involved in counselling as permitted by the counselees - Read and discuss a book on the Christian ministry. Submit bulletin information to our church secretary by Thursday at 6p.m. Duration Negotiated ordinarily a total of 1012 weeks Additional Details Interns (and pastors) have one day off per week.
