Title SpeechLanguage Pathologist Position Details Start Date: Immediate Position Type: Permanent Open To: Internal & External Applicants Posting Overview Reporting to the Supervisor of School Based Clinical and Therapy Services, the SpeechLanguage Pathologist will support the speech and language development of students and capacity building in educators using a MultiTiered System of Supports framework. The successful applicant will provide screening, assessment, consultative, programming and direct services to support a varied caseload of students with a range of communication delays or disorders; from nonverbal complex communicators to highly verbal students. Other duties will be as assigned by the Supervisor. The SpeechLanguage Pathologist will effectively collaborate with teachers and other itinerant team members, including assigning caseload and providing clinical direction to Communicative Disorders Assistants. Responsibilities Provide screening, assessment, consultative, programming and direct services for a diverse student population; collaborate with educators and itinerant team members; assign caseload and provide clinical direction to assistants. Qualifications/Experience Masters degree in SpeechLanguage Pathology. Professional certification with CALSPO. SpeechLanguage & Audiology Canada (SAC) certification is an asset. Other Key Skills & Knowledge Ability to work in partnership with students, schools, system staff and department. Knowledge of current research in assessment and evidencebased intervention methods. Excellent organization and communication skills. Knowledgeable about a tiered approach to intervention. Selfdirected in a complex work environment with flexibility and adaptability. Ability to quickly establish effective interpersonal relationships. Experience with AAC, audiological screening protocols and supporting students with complex communication needs (asset). Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with attention to detail for report writing, documentation, meetings and presentations. Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including MS Teams, Word, OneNote and Excel. Reliable transportation for travel throughout the district. Position Effective Date & Length Four positions available Permanent CUPE, 35 hours/week. Working 10 months, paid over 12 months. Home location to be determined. Compensation Schedule B $80,272/annum $84,932/annum. Comprehensive benefit package and OMERS pension plan provided.
