About This Opportunity Are you a licensed Heavy Duty Mechanic with a passion for big machines and rugged environments? Join our team and be part of a dynamic operation that keeps construction and aggregate operations moving. We are seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our equipment maintenance team working across our construction sites, pits, and quarries. This role is critical to keeping our diverse fleet of excavators, loaders, dozers, haul trucks, crushing equipment, and ancillary equipment operating safely and efficiently. Youll have your own service truck equipped with a crane to support both shop and field operations, giving you the mobility and tools to handle repairs wherever theyre needed. What Youll Be Doing Perform preventative maintenance on a diverse fleet of heavy construction and aggregate equipment. Carry out hydraulic work on excavators, loaders, crushing plants, and other aggregate equipment. Diagnose and complete major mechanical repairs to ensure equipment runs safely and efficiently. Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and mechanical components onsite and in the shop. Respond to equipment breakdowns in pits, quarries, and active construction sites using your equipped service truck. Conduct scheduled maintenance inspections and document equipment condition and repair history. Work with the operations team to prioritize maintenance activities and minimize equipment downtime. Ensure all repairs meet manufacturer specifications and safety standards. Perform welding and fabrication as needed for equipment repairs and modifications. Maintain accurate service records and documentation in compliance with company policies. Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years experience as a licensed heavyduty mechanic. Experience with Caterpillar, Komatsu, John Deere, or similar heavy equipment brands CAT experience is a strong asset. Previous experience in quarry, aggregate, or heavy civil construction environments is a strong plus. Solid diagnostic abilities with hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine systems. Proficiency with diagnostic software and electronic control systems. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, hydraulic schematics, and electrical diagrams. Strong problemsolving and communication skills. Ability to work independently with your service vehicle or as part of a shop team. Welding and fabrication skills considered an asset. Valid drivers licence with satisfactory driving record; DZ licence an asset. Common Core training considered an asset. Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of personal protective equipment. Reliable and able to work at various locations including the rural shop, pits, and construction sites.
