Job Description Reporting to the VP of engineering, you will be responsible for the design, development, and transfer to manufacturing of sensors. You will be involved in developing processes for manufacturing those sensors and in testing and troubleshooting new and legacy products. The product development team is responsible for the research and development of all XSENSOR technology and products. The team consists of system, software, and sensor design engineers. Responsibilities You will design sensors using advanced materials, such as conductive textiles, for a wide range of use cases. You will work alongside research and development and production teams, designing sensors to specifications or advancing the performance of XSENSORs sensor portfolio. Your tasks would typically include: Devising products to meet performance specifications Developing product prototypes Developing sensor build manufacturing processes Using computer-aided design (CAD) software to create new designs Developing design documentation, such as assembly drawings, bills of materials, and process build documents Assessing technical performance specifications and carrying out rigorous testing, recording test results, and writing test reports Researching new techniques and technologies Identifying the suitability of materials and bonding techniques Writing technical reports and cost estimates Training manufacturing people to build and test sensors Work Experience & Skills Experience in modelling and production processes Development of mechanical drawings using CAD software such as NX, SolidWorks, Fusion360, AutoCAD, and or DraftSite Experience in CNC Design of experiments Deep understanding of material properties Fundamental electronics knowledge Defining and directing the work of suppliers and vendors Great attention to detail Desire to learn and quick to adapt to new systems Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to effectively multitask Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Nice to Haves Knowledge of the textile industry , including markets, processes, materials, adhesives, and textile chemistry, would be an asset. 3D printing (FDM, SLA) Education Bachelors degree in mechanical, mechatronics engineering, or equivalent education and experience #J-18808-Ljbffr
