Overview of the role Saputo Dairy Products Canada G.P. is seeking a 4th Class Operating Engineer responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of all utilities and facilities (high pressure steam boilers, ammonia refrigeration, compressed air, fire system, etc.). This position works in a 3rd Class High Pressure Power Plant. Schedule Monday to Friday 7:30am-3:30pm, vacation coverage as required (12hr shifts). Status Fulltime, Permanent. Salary $44.70/hour. Hours worked on Saturdays and Sundays are compensated at 1.5 times the regular hourly rate. Be responsible for their shift and the direct supervision of contractors working in the plant during their shift. Operate and maintain the ammonia refrigeration plant (process cooling and warehouse cooling). Complete all required documentation (work orders, logbooks, etc.). Comply with TSSA requirements and Operating Engineers act. Comply with H&S, GMP, HACCP, and BRC practices. Other maintenance/duties as required. You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications 4th Class Operating Engineer or Refrigeration Operator Class B License (required). Minimum 1 year handson experience in a manufacturing environment, installation, startup, troubleshooting, service and field operations of various auxiliary equipment ammonia refrigeration, steam boilers, air compressors, etc. Highpressure boilers, ammonia refrigeration, and air handling systems experience (required). Troubleshooting skills with motivation for continuous improvement and reliability (required). Familiar with fire suppression and building security system. Ability to maintain accurate written records and documentation within a CMMS system. Industrial Mechanic Millwright, Industrial Electrician and Automation Technician (eg. 433a, 442a Certificate) considered an asset with pay premiums. Power Engineering Diploma considered an asset. Current knowledge in H&S, GMP, HACCP, and BRC procedures. Familiar with PLC operation and troubleshooting. Handles troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs, preventative/predictive maintenance plans and spare parts. Ensure all powerhouse equipment is maintained properly and that replacement parts are available to minimize downtime. Strong analytical and organizational skills.
