Overview St. Marys Cement, part of Votorantim Cimentos North America (VCNA), seeks a Maintenance Manager to lead reliability and maintenance activities at our St. Marys, Ontario plant. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Drive reliability improvements in the plant to achieve worldclass MTBF results. Direct, supervise, and assign duties to the Predictive Maintenance Supervisor and Selective Inspection Technician; participate in the rotating oncall list shared with other salary maintenance positions. Update existing plant maintenance and preventative maintenance systems; troubleshoot equipment malfunctions to determine root cause(s) and develop corrective action plans to improve reliability. Create weekly and monthly plant equipment condition status reports. Evaluate costreduction opportunities. Conduct technical reviews of vendors and contractors to ensure they can provide required equipment, machinery, and services. Ensure the safety of subordinates by enforcing safe work practices, providing motivation, and effective communication. Lead the continuous improvement of all operating equipment conditions. Manage the short, medium, and longterm treatment of equipment recognized as critical. Participate in and promote maintenance costsaving initiatives to improve maintenance spend and budget development. Supervise and direct maintenance contractors working on the plant site as required; manage contractor time and ensure quality work through field verification. Participate in scheduled maintenance meetings and initiatives; work toward continuous improvement of maintenance KPIs. Provide detailed feedback on equipment condition and reliability improvements. Ensure all technical training and development requirements are met for subordinates; administer the Collective Bargaining Agreement (if applicable) and disciplinary actions as required. Conduct toolbox/tailgate safety talks; manage vacation schedules with plant management approval. Ensure technical specifications and special instructions are available and understood by craftsmen for assigned jobs. Participate in daily and weekly planning meetings; provide input to the Maintenance Planner to set job priorities. Assist operation groups with technical support; maintain accountability of companyowned tools. Qualifications and Skills Education / Experience Requirements University degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; 5+ years of cement experience in a large manufacturing facility. Present information and respond to questions from all levels of management. Mathematical Skills Apply advanced mathematical concepts (exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, permutations), statistical methods, and analysis techniques. Reasoning Skills Define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, interpret technical instructions. Computer Skills Knowledge of SAP, GPD, PI, AutoCAD Manufacturing software; Sigga, Coupa, Excel, Word, MS Project, PowerPoint, Access. Physical Demands Moderateintermediate positions involving sitting, standing, walking, keyboarding; confined spaces up to 50% of workday.
