Preventative Maintenance Field Technician Wajax is seeking a Preventative Maintenance Field Technician to support the Material Handling Equipment division. This role focuses on performing scheduled preventative maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs on customer equipment in the field, ensuring safe operation, reliability, and reduced downtime. This is a customerfacing, fieldbased role ideal for a mechanically inclined technician who takes pride in proactive maintenance, safety, and highquality service. Preventative Maintenance & Inspections Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on material handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, order pickers, and other powered/industrial equipment Conduct detailed inspections to identify wear, safety concerns, and potential mechanical or electrical issues Complete maintenance based on OEM standards, service intervals, and Wajax quality expectations Proactively identify and recommend corrective repairs to customers to prevent equipment failure Field Service & Customer Support Travel to customer sites to perform onsite maintenance and basic troubleshooting Communicate clearly with customers regarding equipment condition, required followup work, and maintenance recommendations Represent Wajax professionally while building strong, trustbased customer relationships Coordinate with Service Planners, Shop Technicians, and Field Service teams as needed Documentation & Reporting Accurately complete service reports, inspection checklists, and maintenance documentation Record findings, parts used, and required followup work in applicable systems Ensure all work complies with safety, regulatory, and company standards Safety & Compliance Perform all work in compliance with Wajax safety policies and customer site requirements Follow lockout/tagout procedures and safe work practices Participate in ongoing safety training and certifications Qualifications Required Mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical experience (material handling, automotive, heavy equipment, or industrial equipment considered) Experience performing preventive maintenance or service work in a field or industrial environment Strong mechanical aptitude with basic diagnostic and troubleshooting skills Valid drivers license and ability to travel to customer sites Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fieldbased role Strong communication and customer service skills Red Seal Automotive Service Technician certification or registration as a Heavy Equipment Technician apprentice (any level) Preferred Experience with material handling equipment (forklifts, powered industrial trucks) Basic electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems knowledge Familiarity with OEM maintenance guidelines Experience using digital service documentation tools or CMMS systems Highlights Competitive health and dental benefits with no waiting period for eligibility (100% employerpaid premiums), plus health spending account Wajaxled elearning and product training through industryleading manufacturers Exclusive discounts with a variety of manufacturers and service providers such as Ford, GM, Chrysler, Dell, TELUS, an insurance group, pet insurance, footwear & workwear, fitness membership, and more Recognition program where points are earned for merchandise or gift certificates, plus cash awards Company matched pension plan AwardWinning Health and Wellness Program Wajax is an equal opportunity employer.
