Explore your next role: As a key member of the Material Control team, the Manager, Material Control will report to the Director, Supply Management and will be responsible for managing the Material Control activities for Voyageur and ensure such activities are carried out through IAW established policies and procedures. The Manager ensures compliance and operational service levels are maintained while supporting and promoting new Procedures/Policies to improve overall efficiencies. Material Storage and Distribution Manage the receiving, issuing, and shipping activities for the Company, ensuring such activities are IAW established policies and procedures. Maintain daily shipping records, ensuring relevant information is forwarded to the applicable department or person. Ensure shipments of Dangerous Goods prepared by MatCon are prepared, packaged, and documented by IAW for the DG Manual and regulations. Oversee the completion of documentation for aircraft and material exported and imported, ensuring documentation follows CBSA requirements. Liaise with other Departments to ensure the effective and costefficient coordination of all Company Related shipping to/from LMB. Liaise and follow up with other departments regarding timely corrective action for Receiving Rejections and pertinent Material matters. Maintain controlled access to Material Control and ensure the tool crib is kept tidy and complete. Maintain a list of contacts for freight carriers, and ensure crates used for shipping comply with the wood packaging requirements. Request PME to build crates as required. Ensure stock returns are processed IAW the established policies and procedures. Transfer unserviceable material from R&O and serviceable oversize material to Quarantine, ensuring the material is placed in an appropriate location. Respond to requests from other departments and divisions, participate in departmental meetings and/or Management meetings. Manage the calibrated tools, test equipment, and expired parts forecasts for the Material Control. Departmental Administration & Staff Management Provide daily direction to all MatCon personnel, assign projects and tasks based on operational requirements, and identify priorities. Provide ongoing coaching, guidance and mentoring to ensure that MatCon personnel are trained and experienced, and able to accept tasks and assume roles of greater responsibility. Ensure onthejob training is provided to new staff; staff training is up to date, and training is provided for new equipment or as otherwise identified. Create and foster an open, honest, and supportive work environment. Provide periodic department updates to Director, Supply Chain. Ensure equipment and building deficiencies in the MatCon areas are reported as necessary. Manage and approve MatCon employee payroll requests and review employee timecards for accuracy and submit for processing; and Oversee employee performance management as per Voyageur directives and practices. Special Project Management Plan, assign and manage tasks and special projects for timely and efficient completion. Upon request, manage and coordinate the assembly, packaging, and shipping of Base Inventories from the main base. Budget Management Support the budget process by planning and preparing recommendations and managing the budget as necessary. Develop, control and manage departmental budgets for Shipping, within Management guidelines. Your Distinctive Ingredients for Success: High School diploma or equivalent required. College diploma or equivalent preferred. (Aircraft Maintenance, Engineering, Technology, or Business) 6 years in aviation inventory control, purchasing and /or aviation shipping and receiving. 2 years supervisory experience. Experience in Microsoft Teams, Excel, and Word. In depth knowledge of inventory tracking software, WinAir is an asset. Proven leadership skills and people management skills. Transport of Dangerous Goods certificate is an asset. Receiving Inspector Authorization (or 3 years relevant work experience and obtain RI authorization within 6 months). Complete tasks accurately and efficiently with high attention to detail. Demonstrated problemsolving skills and ability to identify solutions. Able to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. You must be legally eligible to work for a Canadian company (e.g., be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada, or possess a valid work permit) and provide a clear Criminal Background Check.
