Responsibilities Giving direction to equipment operators, dump trucks, and labourers on the crew Planning the crews daily work Checking elevations and layout using GPS, levels, and lasers for excavation, ditching, granular placement, and culvert installs Fine grading granular surfaces for paving and concrete work Adjusting and rebuilding manhole and catch basin frames/grates Setting up traffic control for daily operations This role is full time seasonal, generally April to November (weather dependent). POSITION REQUIREMENTS Previous experience on a roadway/highway construction crew Comfortable checking elevations and grades Able to read and interpret construction drawings and quantity sheets Strong communication Reliable, punctual, and hardworking Works well on a team and independently Comfortable working outdoors in rugged conditions Physically fit (able to lift 50 lbs) Organized and able to plan ahead Flexible to work overtime, weekends, and nights when needed WHAT WE OFFER Expected Pay: $40.82 Salary, benefits, and other additional compensation premiums are in accordance with The Toronto And Area Road Builders Association and Labourers International Union of North America, Local 183.
