Job Summary The Plant Manager III, Material Recovery Facility (MRF) ensures the highest standards of environmental safety and operational excellence by effectively managing the day-to-day operations of the assigned MRF and maintaining cost management within the MRF. The successful candidate is a visible, hands-on leader who thrives under pressure, makes sound real-time decisions, and drives a strong culture of accountability, employee engagement, and continuous improvement. Location 2332 Lennox and Addington County Rd 41, Roblin, ON K0K 2W0 Essential Duties and Responsibilities Ensure smooth operation of site, including gatehouse, sorting, and loading. Ensure system is performing at highest level. Minimize handling and operational costs. Continuously work to reduce turnaround time for trucks in and out of site. Regularly propose means of operational improvement. Act as a liaison, where necessary, for community relationships and customers. Oversee and manage WM contractual obligations. Comply with and ensure adherence to WMs Mission to Zero standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations. Submit reasonable budget information and analyze data versus yeartodate data and prior year budget. Assist in creating a positive team-oriented environment through employee development and motivation. Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the physical property of the MRF through inspections and preventive maintenance programs with supervisors/employees. Oversee personnel needs of the MRF including selecting, coaching, and training employees and evaluating employee performance; provide input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions. Conduct and/or attend and contribute to periodic safety meetings. Provide training and presentations as needed in a positive and professional manner. Update and submit required reports in a timely manner. Identify and eliminate waste to improve flow, reduce downtime, and optimize labor and equipment utilization. Lead problemsolving initiatives using structured methodologies. Drive a culture of continuous improvement with measurable results. Build, coach, and develop supervisors and frontline teams. Set clear expectations and hold teams accountable for performance and behavior. Foster a positive, engaged, and highperforming work environment. Motivate teams during high-pressure situations while maintaining focus and discipline. Supervisory Responsibilities Direct supervision of 4-5 full-time employees. Indirect supervision of approximately 40-45 full-time employees. Qualifications Education and Experience Bachelors Degree (accredited) or, in lieu of a degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) plus 4 years of relevant work experience. 7 years of relevant work experience in addition to the education requirement. Preferred: Experience leading a team of 4-5 salaried employees including managers and supervisors, in addition to the required experience and education. Compensation Base pay range: $125,000 $140,000 per year. The specific salary offered may be influenced by the candidates relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location. This position is eligible for bonus.
