Current Coop positions available at Dow: Chemical/Petroleum Engineer Dow Canada Operations is seeking exceptional Undergraduate and Graduate level Engineering students for Coop opportunities in Dow Canada Operations (Manufacturing & Engineering). The work assignment will begin in the upcoming terms in the next calendar year (Fall/Autumn: start date September 2026). About Operations The Operations function within Dow is comprised of four unique focus areas: Manufacturing, Technical Expertise & Support (TES), Environmental, Health, & Safety Operations (EH&S), and Emergency Services & Security (ES&S). About You Your job will include a broad range of responsibilities in a variety of different work settings such as chemical plant safety and environmental performance, process operation, optimization, modification, maintenance, and technology implementation. Engineers must use sound technical judgment to enable safe and efficient plant operations. Youll work as part of a team at Dow and we have many opportunities to address challenging realworld problems. About the Job Youll work either a 4, 8, 12 or 16month period (8, 12, or 16 months is preferred), consecutive, provided your performance is satisfactory. Additional work terms beyond the initial period are contingent upon endofterm evaluation, slot availability, and school requirements. Assignment Locations Fort Saskatchewan (near Edmonton) Key Roles & Responsibilities Provide technical support to plant operating personnel to maintain safe, reliable, and efficient operations. Manufacturing process troubleshooting and problem solving. Preventive maintenance, yield and process improvements. Waste reduction, safety enhancements, and process control. Cost optimization, project management and implementation. Equipment design and new technology implementation. Required Qualifications Currently pursuing a Bachelor''s or Master''s degree in Chemical, Petroleum, Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental/Civil, or Material Science/Metallurgical Engineering. Ability to work legally in Canada without company sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications Completed 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of academic studies. Active participation and leadership in extracurricular activities and on-campus organizations. GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or equivalent at a Canadian university. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Outstanding work ethic and leadership potential. Previous coop experience is a plus. Enrollment in an Engineers Canadaaccredited program. Contingencies Reliable attendance is expected; the candidate must consistently access their assigned plant site using dependable transportation.
