About The Opportunity RHI Magnesita is seeking a handson Senior HSE Lead Coordinator to support our operations in Central and Eastern Canada. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced safety professional who enjoys balancing strategic leadership with daytoday field engagement and wants to make a meaningful impact on safety culture and operational performance. In this role, you will partner closely with leadership and employees to drive continuous improvement, ensure regulatory compliance, and strengthen our safetyfirst culture. You will take ownership of both developing and enhancing HSE programs while also being actively present in the field conducting audits, supporting jobsite safety, coaching employees, and addressing realtime challenges. Competitive compensation package Salary range: $80,000 - 110,000 CAD Health, wellbeing benefits, and pension program. Essential Job Requirements Duties include, but are not limited to: Maintain accurate HSE metrics for reporting to leadership and corporate systems Lead and support HSE initiatives by identifying root causes of safety and environmental issues and coaching employees and leadership on sustainable solutions Conduct risk assessments and Job Safety Analyses (JSA), recommending and implementing practical risk mitigation strategies, including ergonomics Deliver and support HSE training programs, including new employee onboarding and ongoing compliance training Perform inspections, audits, and environmental compliance reviews; track and ensure timely completion of corrective actions Manage HSE documentation, including case files, regulatory records, KPI tracking, and compliance reporting through established systems and calendars Investigate incidents, injuries, and near misses; drive effective corrective and preventive actions through to completion Partner with leadership to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, provincial, and Client specific HSE regulations, as well as RHIM internal standards Act as the regional RHIM representative for regulatory agencies (e.g. Ministry of Labour, CNESST, etc.) during inspections and audits Respond to emergency situations and support sitelevel incident management as needed Address employee HSE concerns, complaints, and observations in a timely and professional manner Support execution of the HSE Strategic Plan and continuously identify opportunities for improvement Support the Risk Management Department with Workers Compensation Case Management Assist in administration of Client Prequalification providers such as: ISNetworld, Avetta, Safe Contractor, etc. Administration of regional Joint Health and Safety Committees. Routine travel to Client site locations What To Expect In This Role This position is intentionally designed as a hybrid HSE leadership role, combining both strategic program ownership and handson field execution. You will operate as the primary HSE leader in the region, responsible for: Driving HSE strategy, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives While also being actively present in the fieldconducting audits, supporting daytoday safety activities, and engaging directly with employees This Role is Wellsuited For Someone Who Enjoys both building programs and rolling up their sleeves to implement them Thrives in an environment that requires autonomy, ownership, and influence across all levels of the organization About You Success in this role requires comfort with balancing multiple priorities, operating with limited oversight, and serving as a trusted advisor to site leadership while also being a visible presence with the frontline workers. Education and Certifications Required Professional designation as a National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) Preferred Advanced degree in Health, Safety, Environmental, Engineering, or related scientific field, or equivalent HSE experience Knowledge & Experience 4+ years of HSE experience in a construction, industrial or manufacturing environment Working knowledge of Canadian health and safety legislation and standards Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal) with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels. French language skills an asset. Proven ability to drive change and build a strong safety culture Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced environment Experience delivering effective training to diverse audiences Strong critical thinking and problemsolving skills aligned with broader organizational objectives High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience with cloudbased systems. Physical Requirements Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including helmet with chin strap, vest, gloves, safety glasses, and steeltoed boots. Willingness to enter confined spaces and work at heights. Ability to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands for computer and equipment operation. Ability to reach, stoop, and kneel as required. Ability to perform light to moderate lifting Ability to travel to job sites as needed. Working Environment Work is performed in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment with high noise levels and exposure to operational equipment.
