You will support Program Delivery in its commitments by understanding Agricorps business risk management programs, dealer licensing, registration programs and adhoc programs. You will use this understanding when reviewing files and ensuring documentation is complete, including files prepared for litigation. In conjunction with Legal Counsel, you will also determine handling strategies for operational issues and oversee litigation for customer files. In this role, you will: Review, manage and audit complex underwriting and claim files to validate adherence to legislation, Agricorps policies and procedures around risk exposure, premiums, limitations, exclusions, renewals, cancellations and endorsements Participate in monitoring, assessing and resolving operational issues, including the resolution of customer complaints, disputes and appeals, and apply effective critical thinking skills to enable a successful outcome Review and analyze escalations and appeals related to claims and underwriting decisions that require further investigation Consult with internal stakeholders, such as regional services staff, as required to validate complex claims Work with Legal Counsel on litigation matters for customer files Assess and track the effectiveness of policies and procedures through the use of audits, inspections and surveys Participate in developing and implementing quality assurance policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with divisional plans Interface with external parties on appeals and dispute resolution Provide coaching and expertise to individuals within the division on complex claims and underwriting issues Job Details Job status: Full-time permanent (posting for an existing vacancy) Salary range: $81,498 - $95,880 Work status: Full time in office Location: Guelph, Ontario What you bring Postsecondary education in a related field (e.g., business administration, economics, agriculture) or equivalent experience; additional training in accounting, risk analysis/risk management or financial analysis an asset 5 years experience in quality assurance, claims adjudication, underwriting or a related field Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing to diverse groups including clients, brokers, agents and other professionals Experience in insurance, financial services or agriculture industry preferred Experience in handling complex claim and/or underwriting files an asset Experience in conflict resolution or dispute mediation an asset Critical judgment, decision making and problem solving Makes the best decision, in a timely manner, based upon a combination of analysis, knowledge, experience and judgement Writing skills Writing clear and concise messages in a manner that is easy for others to understand and achieves the desired outcome Communication Consistently communicates information in a clear, concise and timely manner to optimize audience understanding Quality Focus Attends the task at hand to minimize errors and provide consistent delivery of work to the highest possible standard; prior to work being distributed Information gathering and processing Collecting and analyzing data to prepare meaningful and concise reports that summarize the information Initiative Proactively identifies and handles issues and situations to take action; seizing opportunities when they arise Efficiency Effectively plan and organize time and resources to prioritize work to effectively meet objectives Background Agricorp, an agency of the government of Ontario.
