Position Summary Working as a Deli Associate at Walmart Canada is a great way to develop your skills in the retail industry. A Deli Associate provides exemplary customer service by adhering to the basic beliefs and values of Walmart, maintains and zones the deli area, and assists with stocking and the sale of goods. What You''ll Do Zones the department. Rotates stock and checks for expired products. Ensures the merchandise is properly signed and priced. Adheres to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sellby dates, and expiration dates. Takes orders for Deli Department merchandise; slices and prepares merchandise, such as meat, cheese, and fried chicken; and provides requested assistance. Provides assistance to the frontend associates with price checks. Prepares deli food orders, meat, cheese, and uses slicers, stackers, and other utensils; prepares chicken using rotisserie oven and deep fryer; and fills prepared salads and side dishes for placement into display area and fulfills specialty orders from customers as required. Keeps the area neat, clean, and organized; free of fixtures, unnecessary debris, foreign objects, and liquids.
