The role is accountable for the effective delivery of ultrasound procedures for clients during their Annual Health Assessment and other services at Medcan. This role will also assist with facilitating the flow of patients through the clinic and coordinating with other staff to ensure exceptional delivery of service. Medcans sonographer functions as a healthcare provider who, working under the delegated authority of the reporting physician, serves as a medical imaging professional providing clinically relevant information to assist the requesting physician with the screening, diagnosis and treatment of patients. The sonographers role and responsibilities include providing diagnostic medical sonography services and its various clinical specialties. The sonographers work is consistent with his/her education and training and is aligned with Medcans policies and procedures and applicable professional standards. The sonographer is a clientfocused professional with superior organization and timemanagement skills. What Youll Do Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct sonography examinations in accordance with infectious disease, sterilization and patient safety protocols, policies and procedures. Review patient medical history, evaluate contraindications, obtain patient consent, perform required ultrasound examinations and document findings. Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment and basic quality control checks. Ensure sonography exam results meet facility standards for quality assurance. Coordinate with crossfunctional clinic teams to ensure exceptional service and client experience. What Youll Need 1+ years of experience as a sonographer performing examinations such as abdominal exams Breast, transvaginal and transrectal experience an asset Member of the CMRITO Ultrasound ARDMS certification Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to work independently and collaboratively This is a casual role that will be scheduled based on clinic needs with mandatory availability on Saturdays. Availability Monday Friday is also ideal for lastminute sick and vacation coverage. Our downtown Toronto clinic is conveniently located at 150 York St., which is nearby St. Andrew station or a 10minute walk from Union Station! Position Pay Range $35.43$48.72 CAD per hour Pay will be determined based on an analysis of the selected candidate''s experience and qualifications within the role''s compensation grade. Medcan''s compensation ranges are determined by a combination of required qualifications and skills, market value, and internal equity.
