Applications are invited for the regular position of part-time Dental Clinic Administrator in the Health Sciences Division at the Welland Campus. The starting salary is $25.64 /hr for a 24-hour work week. Evening work will be required. Reporting to the Associate Dean, Allied Health, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the dental clinic during client care clinics, guide dental students during scheduled business rotations, and schedule clients appropriately in a clinical learning environment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Maintaining confidential client health records and ensuring that documents are readily available for students and clinic staff Providing support and assisting dental students, dental clients and dental staff Organizing and supporting daily workflow of reception area in collaboration with the dental team Maintaining appointment schedule in a clinical learning environment Preparing preclinic and clinic documentation Scheduling clients appropriately in a clinical learning environment Qualifications: Minimum one (1) year certificate in Dental Office Administration, Dental Assisting, OfficeAdministrationor similar field of study Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a dental officeadministration including knowledge and experience with dental software Knowledge of Infection Protection and Control (IPAC), Privacy Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA), Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), regulations and guidelines of both College of Dental Hygienists Ontario (CDHO) and Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO) Experience working in a team environment Experience working with students in an adult learning environment Proven time management, organizational, and communication skills Preferred candidates will have training in IPAC and Basic Life Support (CPR/HCP) A certification from Ontario Dental Assistants Association (ODAA) is considered an asset Experience with Dentrix is preferred This position is open to internal employees and external applicants.
