Position Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and detailoriented Purchasing Agent to ensure the timely and costeffective acquisition of materials, components and services. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of supplychain and procurement processes. Key Duties & Responsibilities Source, negotiate, and procure materials, components and services in accordance with project requirements, ensuring compliance with specifications and defence regulations. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering partnerships that guarantee reliability, quality and competitiveness. Negotiate terms, conditions and pricing to secure the best possible agreements while mitigating risks and ensuring budget adherence. Continuously evaluate and improve supplychain processes to identify cost savings, efficiency gains and risk mitigation opportunities. Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, pricing and material availability. Ensure all procurement activities comply with industry regulations, local and global company policies, and maintain accurate records and documentation. Collaborate closely with Engineering, Project Management, Quality Assurance and other internal and group teams to align procurement strategies with project goals and timelines. Identify potential supplychain risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure continuity and reliable supply. Qualifications & Experience Degree in Business or equivalent work experience. BS/BA in Supply Chain Management or equivalent work experience. Experience in manufacturing purchasing and/or inventory management. Ability to travel internationally. Valid driving licence. Holding security clearance or the ability to obtain one. Understanding of US ITAR and Canadas Controlled Goods Program. Technical & Soft Skills Strong negotiation and contract management skills. Excellent analytical, problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities. Experience with procurement software, MRP systems and Microsoft Office. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience with multinational defence environments and multicultural, global customer bases. Understanding of drawing nomenclature, engineering terminology and raw material & manufacturing processes. Knowledge of crossborder supplychain and logistics. Capability to conduct supplier audits.
