PEAK Genetics has an opportunity to join our barn staff as a Livestock Specialist in Crossfield, AB. In this role you will support the daily care, health, and collection of our elite bulls while maintaining facilities and equipment. Areas of Responsibility Handle sires of varying ages and sizes calmly and confidently for optimum production. Work within a system employing established protocols. Perform regular livestock care, including feeding, cleaning, moving cattle, assisting with health testing, veterinary treatments, and other routine tasks. Operate company farm equipment and vehicles. Clean and maintain buildings, grounds, and equipment. Qualifications Required Comfortable working with large animals. Willingness to learn and follow company protocols. Valid drivers license. Ability to perform occasional planned weekend duties. Capability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds. Capacity to work on feet and stand for long periods of time. Ability to move safely through a tight space of 1315 feet to exit livestock pens in case of emergency. Desired Previous livestock handling experience. Experience detecting health and disease symptoms in cattle. Ability to perform basic equipment and building maintenance repairs. Postsecondary education in agriculture or a related field. Ideal Basic computer skills working with Microsoft Office. Characteristics of a Successful Livestock Specialist Ability to work independently and in a fastpaced team environment.
