Role Summary Our Ottawa team is growing! We''re looking for a Project Accounting Clerk to support our finance and operations teams. You''ll manage the full billing cycle for multi-million-dollar construction projectspreparing monthly billings, compiling invoices, timesheets, and expenses, and ensuring accurate entry and coding in NetSuite. You''ll be a key connector between finance and operations, keeping project costs on track and clients well-supported. As a Project Accounting Clerk, you play a direct role in ensuring that every dollar is tracked, every invoice is coded correctly, and every billing goes out on time. Key Impact / Purpose Maintain the financial integrity of active, multi-million-dollar construction projects through accurate recordkeeping and precise cost tracking in NetSuite Bridge finance and operations by ensuring invoices are coded correctly and project managers have the visibility they need to make confident decisions Deliver timely billings and detailed cost backup that keep clients informed and projects on track Duties & Responsibilities Prepare monthly progress billings for time-and-material construction projects, compiling supporting documentation including invoices, timesheets, and expense records Enter job-related invoices into NetSuite, ensuring accurate coding to the correct sub-job and change event Work closely with the operations team to verify invoice coding and maintain accurate tracking of all project expenses Respond to client requests for detailed cost backup, including timesheets and supporting documentation Support subcontract administration by tracking subcontractor invoices and ensuring alignment with purchase orders and project activity Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as they relate to active projects Contribute to adhoc reporting for the finance and project management teams as required Act as a liaison between the finance team and operational counterparts, championing a strong and collaborative working relationship Must Haves 2+ years of experience in an accounting role (AP/AR, Billing Coordinator, Junior Accountant, or similar) Postsecondary degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel skills High degree of accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines Effective communicator who can collaborate crossfunctionally across finance and operations This role requires eligibility to obtain Government of Canada security clearance for certain projects Nice to Haves Experience with ERP systems; familiarity with NetSuite is a strong asset Knowledge of the construction industry Experience in a project-based or site-supported accounting environment Benefits This is a new position.
