Product Owner - Kits We are recruiting for a Product Owner for our location in Peterborough, ON. BWXT NEC''s Fuel Handling and Engineered Solutions group is involved in the design, manufacture, development, testing, parts supply, and service of onpower refueling, reactor maintenance, and nuclear medicine delivery tooling sold around the world. We are the original designer of the automated systems that allow 24/7 on power refueling of CANDU reactors and aim to solve some of the Nuclear Industrys most challenging problems. Today, BWXTs equipment is being used in most of the nuclear power plants in Canada and is critical to delivering carbonfree energy production and lifesaving medical isotopes. Location: Peterborough, ON Our Role The Product Owner will oversee a product line to support the Kits program, which involves the supply of customized kits to support the fuel handling systems. Responsibilities combine those of a traditional Project Manager & a Commercial Rep for projects. Your Day to Day Accountability 1: Commercial Support Support manager and participate in kit contract renewals. This includes creation of forecast opportunities, preparation of estimate and proposal and participation in negotiations with customer. Ensure budgets are set up and jobs are open for new contracts or on return of a kit from site for restocking. Prepare and manage the final pricing of a kit and obtain revised POs received from customer to support the shipment of a kit. Prepare estimate for parts that will ship outside of a kit to support an emergent need at site, or to back fill a kit. Identify areas to upsell to our customers and manage Contract Change Requests as needed. Support manager with strategic initiatives to increase revenue. Accountability 2: Product Management Ensure system for monitoring and controlling kits is followed. Ensure roles and responsibilities are clearly defined, understood and met by all contributors. Report on performance issues to manager. Work closely with Product Coordinator and proactively identify product risk, analyze solutions, and take decisive action to resolve issues. Participate in coordinating/producing cost or schedule recovery/mitigation plans, as well as monitoring scope creep throughout the product life cycle. Prepare presentation and facilitate touchpoints with customer. Customer reporting as required. Establish and build relationship with customers (Supply Chain, QA, Procurement Eng, Plant Design, Engineering and Maintenance crew). Manage P6 Schedule to reflect accurate resource profiles. Job analytics (cost, fill rates, schedule). Follow proper product closure process. Accountability 3: Continuous Improvement Monitor KPIs and share results with team contributors (revenue, margins and fill rates). Prepare presentations and present product status, metrics, issues, risks, and product resource needs to management. Support overall operational business monitoring and reporting (e.g. resources, revenue forecasting and margins). Identify and champion opportunities for internal improvement on an annual basis. Qualifications Bachelor''s degree in Business, Engineering, or equivalent from an accredited university, or, College Diploma in Business Administration with sufficient experience. 3-5 years of experience as a Project Coordinator, Project Manager or Commercial Rep. Solid analytical skills (Excel). Experience in Nuclear is an asset but not a requirement. Experience with Primavera 6 is an asset but not a requirement. Desired Characteristics: Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision. Excellent verbal communication skills. Solid presentation and written communication skills. Problem solving attitude. Desire for learning and continuous improvement. The base salary range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $85,000 and $126,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
