French & English Teacher/Tutor (InPerson Position) Location: Oxford Learning Barrhaven, Ottawa, Ontario. Employment Type: Part-Time. Salary: $18.50 to $19.00 per hour. Responsibilities: Teach up to 3 students at a time at different levels. Follow the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies. Fill in postlesson notes and complete daily student communication updates. Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times. Schedule: Afterschool and evening hours (4:00pm 8:00pm) Monday to Friday, with some Saturday availability (9:00am 3:00pm). Commitment until the end of the school year is preferred; continuing through the summer is even better. Requirements: Education: Bachelors degree or similar certification in a relevant field; university students with extensive tutoring experience considered; teaching certification an asset. Knowledge of the current Grades 912 French core curriculum. Experience teaching/tutoring French at the Grade912 (or equivalent) level. Strong written and oral communication skills in English. Strong French skills and ability to guide students understanding. Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time. Must instruct class sessions in French. Additional Qualifications: Strong background in spoken and written French and English. Comfortable teaching up to Grade9 (up to Grade12 preferred). Commitment to afterschool, evenings, and weekend sessions. Must be able to commute to the location. Vulnerable sector screening mandatory.
